Needs fulfillment
Within the INR Model framework, “need fulfillment” refers to the extent to which the basic psychological needs of autonomy, competence, and relatedness are perceived as being supported in a specific context.
It's not about objective circumstances, but about the subjective experience of space, effectiveness, and relational safety.
Deepening
Within INR, Inner Needs form the foundation of human functioning. When these needs are met, psychological stability results.
Need fulfillment leads to:
– Open Narrative
Flexible interpretation
Exploratory behavior
– Lower protection activation
When someone experiences that they have influence, feel competent, and are relationally safe, the system does not need to protect itself.
Important is that need fulfillment is contextual.
The same person can experience high fulfillment in one environment and strong frustration in another.
Need fulfillment is not a personal characteristic but a relational experience.
Within organizations, the degree of need fulfillment determines the quality of motivation and collaboration.
